Use complete timing chains, not the normal drive time
Arrival day: work forward
- Start with scheduled landing in Iceland local time.
- Add your realistic border, baggage, assistance, meeting, or rental-pickup time.
- Use the confirmed transport arrival, or add the confirmed flexible journey duration.
- Add the amount of disruption you are willing to absorb.
- Choose the first confirmed admission slot at or after that protected threshold.
Blue Lagoon describes the normal drive from KEF as about 20 minutes, but that is not touchdown-to-entry time. Use the current transport reference only as context.
Departure day: work backward
- Start with scheduled departure and subtract the actual airline-required terminal lead time.
- Protect that deadline with your chosen disruption margin.
- For fixed transport, select a service by its real KEF arrival and use its meeting cutoff.
- Subtract exit, changing, luggage, and boarding time.
- Subtract the desired bathing and entry time to find the latest candidate admission slot.
